Recently, I was asked a question that I hear pretty often.
Usually the questioner is young, perhaps newly-graduated from school. They’re almost always new to their current job. And I can often hear their frustration when they ask:
Please tell me, how can someone just entering the workforce create change?
I am no Monk, nor any authority to claim knowledge about the Dharma. But I do have a somewhat regular, yet sincere contemplative mindfulness practice that helps me experience and understand life, as I observe phenomena within and without me. So, here are a few reflections for your coffee time. As you sip on your deliciously made aromatic coffee, tea or hot cocoa accept these thoughts for your reflection.

As I've been pondering to understand phenomena as they occur in my mind, and to enhance my ability to understand my mind, my ESL mind (English as a Second Language) gets activated. That mind that does not get it, that is lost, and has no idea what to link the unknown word to.
Hundreds of books, articles and study results are published about Mindfulness and its benefits; experts explain Mindfulness in detail as a heightened state of awareness and consciousness when relating to experiences, senses and thoughts. Dr. Jon Kabat-Zin, the founder of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program describes Mindfulness like this:
“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally,”
